Soca in Japan Tour
Tour guidelines
Everything you need to know before you travel — arrival, departure, transport and the rules that keep the tour running smoothly.
These guidelines are for booked Soca in Japan Tour patrons. Please read them carefully — a few important actions (like submitting your flight itinerary) have deadlines.
Departure — hotel to airport
Review the departure schedule below when choosing your return flight. All patrons must submit their flight itinerary using the form so we can arrange the departure bus to the airport. SIJ cannot assume roommates are on the same flight — one form per person. SIJ will not be held responsible for missed buses due to late arrivals or failure to submit your itinerary by the deadline.

Deadline: July 31, 2026 · one form per person
Submit your flight itinerary ↗When to arrive
Please arrive Thursday, September 17, 2026 at HND (Haneda) Airport before 4:00pm. SIJ staff are at the airport from 8:00am to 5:00pm, and the included shuttle bus to the hotel departs every two hours starting at 8:30am. If you can’t arrive before 4:00pm, you must email us at socainjapan@gmail.com to let us know. We’ll give you guidance to reach the hotel — but please note the shuttle bus only runs while our staff are at the airport (8:00am–5:00pm). If you arrive outside those hours, you’ll need to arrange your own transport to the hotel. The first event begins at 7:00pm.
When to depart
Unless you have other plans in Japan, the departure date is Wednesday, September 24, 2026. Please depart from HND (Haneda) Airport.
Portable Wi-Fi
Most newer phones support eSIMs, and Japan has many eSIM options. Portable data SIMs are also available to buy at the airport — notify our staff at the airport so they can assist you. Keep in mind the time needed to get a SIM, as the first tour event begins exactly at 7:00pm. There is also free Wi-Fi in the hotel.
Money in Japan
Japan is generally a cash society, though since the pandemic many places now accept credit cards. If you need cash, you can exchange money at the airport or withdraw from ATMs in most major convenience stores. It’s best to withdraw what you plan to spend on arrival at the airport or at the hotel (there are ATMs inside the hotel) to minimise interruptions.
Ground transportation
From the airport to events and sightseeing, patrons ride in private tour buses — all while enjoying the sweet sound of Soca. • Punctuality is essential. Many events and activities are time-sensitive and may require advance appointments. • Japanese culture values punctuality. Buses depart on schedule; if you are late, you may need to arrange your own transportation. • A detailed daily itinerary is shared before departure and again on arrival in Japan. • As this is a group experience, late arrivals cannot delay or disrupt scheduled activities for others. NEW for 2026: Certain activities will have multiple departure schedules, posted in advance so you can choose what time to arrive.
Safety
For your safety and convenience: • All patrons receive a wristband with the host hotel address and emergency contact information. • If you need to travel independently, refer to your wristband for assistance. • You’ll also receive a physical and digital tour timeline pamphlet — use it to plan your day and arrive on time.
SIJ tour bus — rules & reminders
To keep everyone safe and comfortable, please follow these rules: Keep the bus clean • Patrons feeling ill or nauseous must notify SIJ staff immediately. • Food and drinks are strictly prohibited on all charter buses. • After J’Ouvert, you must use the clean-up facilities before re-boarding — a change of clothes is required. Safety during transit • Always remain seated while the bus is in motion. • Standing, dancing, or anything that could distract the driver or endanger others is forbidden. Fines for violations • Any damage or soiling of the bus — including vomiting — will result in a fine of up to $300 USD. Patrons cannot continue participating in events until the fine is paid. Your cooperation helps us keep a safe, respectful environment for all patrons. Thank you!
Hotel rooms
Much like many things in Japan, hotel rooms are typically small. Please keep this in mind when choosing your room.
